Kinja'd!!!

(Manor Racing (Marussia) seen here being tended to by by Sahara Force India's Bob Fernley)

In news that would be a surprise to anyone if this weren't Manor, it turns out that the latest attempt to kill them has still been unsuccessful. Turns out that they're scrambling to prepare their 2015 entry and working with the FIA to guarantee their entry. I hope that these guys can make it. While it would be nice to see them in Australia, as long as they are on the grid by Bahrain, they are still eligible for the payout of Bernie Money that they earned last year by getting into the points in Monaco.

I just want them to somehow become the most superhuman team on the grid, with a cyborg hybrid Jules Bianchi at the helm. Can you imagine a Manor/Marussia GP win? The whole world of F1 would be turned upside down.

I just want to see them beat Force India at the moment. I was so pissed and surprised when that vote went down. I was surprised that FI were the ones to do it. You'd think that with their whole small team solidarity campaign that they were waging last year, they'd have voted to allow them in just for the PR since they knew that RBR and probably FOM were going to vote them down anyway. I like underdogs, but I don't think that FI will be one of the ones I'm rooting for.

I still like Hulkenberg and I often wonder what would have happened in 2013 if he had been in the Macca instead of Sergio.

Yeah, I like the Hulk. I really like Checo too though and feel like he was really unfairly shafted. He's prone to stupid unforced errors like in Malaysia 2012 or Canada 2014, but when he's on, his racecraft is, in my opinion, amongst the best on the grid. For me, the high point of 2013 was Button freaking out over the radio at Bahrain, going on sky to trash Perez, then being embarrassed by the replay and having to admit that it was just a good battle. I can't decide if last year at FI vindicated Perez a bit or brought Hulk's stock down, because I don't think that anyone was expecting things to be as even between them.

I honestly do not care for Checo, he seems very flippant about some of the huge errors he has made on track. i place blame on him during that late race incident between him, Seb, and Felipe last year.

Last year tells me that the Force India cars are pretty evenly balanced and neither driver is being shown the kind of favoritism that others have received. (Ham-Ros, ALO-MAS, VET-WEB)

Yeah, he can be, but that's kind of the nature of racers on this level. They have to believe that they're the best otherwise why show up? Canada last year is a good example of that with he and FI fighting his penalty for as long as they could, but sometimes he seems to get skewered in the press kind of unfairly in my opinion. A good example is after his incident with Sutil last year at COTA. The English press were bashing him for it and for refusing to take responsibility, but a friend of mine who was watching Spanish language coverage said that he stopped into the commentary box (where they were trying to blame Sutil) to say that it was his fault entirely. Another example was when everyone was freaking out about his "stay in the kitchen" comment about Suzy Wolff. It was a self-deprecating joke that he made to Spanish TV that was poorly translated and taken out of context. He wasn't saying women shouldn't be racing, he was saying that it would be better for him if she did because he doesn't want to get beaten by a girl.
